Silvana Freire Schevitz was born in Brazil to a big, successful family. Her father was a lawyer and her mother stayed at home raising four children. Before finding her passion as a photographer, Freire was a nurse in Brazil for over sixteen years. In addition to having a nursing degree, she also was in the process of earning a law degree but did not complete it because she moved to the United States. Freire loves to travel and met her husband on one of her vacations to Peru and Bolivia. Since 2007, she has been residing in the Charlotte area and loves to hike and ride her bicycle. Her landscape photography speaks for itself and newborn photographs are her favorite to take because they take a lot of responsibility but produce great results. When asked about her greatest success, Freire said that it was leaving her professional life behind in her home country and starting all over in a completely different region of the world. Currently, she is working on getting more business, starting a website, and enjoying life in Charlotte.
