Nayda Cuevas is a Puerto Rican artist who migrated to the mainland United States with her family at age ten. Cuevas began her artistic journey after moving from Puerto Rico. She used art as a way to deal with the unfamiliarity of her new surroundings. Cuevas went on to receive a BFA in Fine Arts from Stetson University in DeLand, FL and a MFA in Visual Arts from Lesley University College of Art and Design in Cambridge, MA. She now works as a private art teacher, stay at home mother, wife, and artists.
