Stanley Bermúdez
Stanley Bermúdez was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, but was not raised there. He grew up in Maracaibo and Cabimas, Venezuela. The artist moved, in 1983, to Houston, Texas. Bermúdez has a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Art from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, TX. Later, he got a Master of Fine Arts from Radford University in Radford, VA. Stanley’s parents were both very supportive with his career choice. The artist has had radio and television appearances, private and public collections, art reviews and publications, and many gallery representations. He uses acrylics on canvas using a hard edge approach where he does not blend any colors in as his main technique. The use of vibrant colors in his work comes from his experiences in Venezuela, where he was exposed to the fun colors of the city. Bermudez enjoys trail running and regular running as well as hiking with his dog and hanging out with his daughters. Stanley does not really need inspiration to work and create what he creates; things like nature, beauty, love, etc. What inspires the artist the most is seeing other artists not give up regardless of what other people think of their work.
